With his fitness improving, and injuries responding to treatment, Gary fought on the undercard of the K1 Max against a very game new comer, Rob Lloyd. Rob weighed in around 108kg for the match, and was incredibly tough. Every time Gary put him down, whether with punch, kick or sweep, Rob got straight up to carry on, only taking a couple of counts. Gary won decisively against a youngster with a future.
